Seghesio Family Vineyards 2009 Venom was rated 90 Points by Robert Parker in The Wine Advocate.
The 2009 Venom Rattlesnake Hill Vineyard, a 100% Sangiovese cuvee, exhibits a garnet color with some lightening at the edge. The nose is classic Sangiovese (something I rarely say about this varietal in California), offering up notes of new saddle leather, underbrush, and jammy strawberry and cherry fruit. Medium-bodied, spicy, and deliciously drinkable, this enticing wine has been brilliantly executed by the Seghesio family. Enjoy this fully mature 2009 over the next 4-5 years. – Robert Parker
Seghesio Family Vineyards 2011 Home Ranch Zinfandel was rated 90 Points by Robert Parker in The Wine Advocate.
The dark ruby/plum-hued 2011 Zinfandel Home Ranch displays a big, briery, spicy, peppery, earthy bouquet, a supple, opulent, broad texture, surprising richness and plenty of up-front charm and seductiveness. This superb, full-bodied Zinfandel is one of the stars of the vintage. It should drink well for 3-5 years. – Robert Parker
